Berkley Bank is a branch of the State Bank of Downs located in Downs, Kansas. Berkley Bank opened its first location in February of 2008 at Greenwood Village, Colorado.

The State Bank of Downs has offered quality banking services to customers in north central Kansas for over 100 years. Over the past several years the bank has expanded it’s loan territory beyond a traditional agricultural bank. The State Bank of Downs has a full service branch in Greenwood Village, Colorado, operating as Berkley Bank.

The Harrison family founded the State Bank of Downs in 1892. The family continued ownership until the early 1960’s. In 1961 the Berkley family of Tescott purchased the bank. Today, Berkley family members own and actively operate the State Bank of Downs. The Bank has seen steady growth since 1961 where assets grew from 2.5 million to over 56 million in 2008.
